Terry and Debby Baxter Update:
Wow! We have tons of things happening and big open doors. Let me try to condense and summarize. We need your prayers.
First, the whole New Testament of the Daily Bible Commentary is nearing completion. Each book is being edited and put in electronic book form on our GoServ Global web page for free download. They are also being translated into Swahili for all of East Africa. That language is spoken by 300 million people with very few Bible tools in their language. Freedom Quest has hired a nearly full time translator in Kenya to work on this project.
Second, I will be heading to Tanzania July 11-24 to teach two freedom quest workshops. One will for our partner STEMM staff and the second to pastors. I will also be sharing the gospel with people coming to a medical camp.
Third, plans are also being made to travel to Haiti July 28-August 6 to teach at a pastors workshop and be one of the speakers at an evening Bible Conference. The country is still unstable but the Spirit of God is moving in our region. We expect around 600 pastors and wives, and around 1,400 each evening at the Bible Conference. The Freedom Quest workshop is being translated into the local Haitian language. This whole event is a huge prayer request.
Fourth , plans are being make for Freedom Quest to work closely with Kinship Radio out of Mankato, Minnesota to offer Freedom Quest Workshops to churches in their whole listening area. I have also been asked to be one of the speakers at their fall men’s rally on September 20th.
Fifth, GoServ Global has been a sponsor of the Small Town Big Deal TV program for the past two years. They have a weekly viewing audience of over 500,000 people. Many are in very liberal cities.
We have been offered the opportunity to acquire the TV program and make it a core ministry of GoServ Global. It would come with the full staff and production team. The program would become a unique evangelism tool to a mostly non-Christian audience. We will keep program very similar to its current format, but include natural faith stories and testimonies. It would also allow us to offer the Daily Bible Commentary and other Bible and Discipleship tools free of charge to the viewing audience.
Here is the catch, We are asking God to provide 6 million by July 15 to confirm this open door. We are not going to our existing donor base for these resources. Meetings are being set up with top level potential donors around the country. This sum will cover the full purchase price and two years of production costs. Three or four times a year there will be very clear programs that share the gospel. The current Christmas Special reaches over 750,000 viewers with a clear gospel message. If funds are not raised, we will consider it a closed door.
Fifth, we are pursuing opportunities to offer the Freedom Quest Workshop in a homeless shelter and rescue mission in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This could be very exciting not only to spread the gospel but also minister to very broken people.
Sixth, we had two very successful Encounter Events put on by Genesis Church staff from Peru, South America here in Iowa and Minnesota. Plans are now being formed for more events in October and formally launching Encounter ministries moving forward.
Finally, please pray for all of the GoServ Global ministries across the United States and around the world. We are thankful for the many volunteers and mission teams that serve at home and abroad. Plans are finalizing to dedicate our evangelistic birthing canter in Liberia by the end of 2025. This is so exciting and has huge potential.
Just a clarifying note, the Baxter’s and Freedom Quest are a separate ministry category under GoServ Global. We are responsible to raise our own funds to be self-sustaining. Please consider being a regular part of this exciting ministry!
Thank you so much for your prayers and partnership! If you want to support the Baxter’s or Freedom Quest, please go to the GoServ Global webpage and designate your gifts accordingly.
