Funds, volunteers, and prayers needed!

Thank you for your prayers for the people impacted by the summer storms here in Iowa. GoServ Global has made it’s way into the northwestern communities of Iowa affected by flooding. GoServ Global wants to be a blessing and serve these communities with care and compassion for the long term, but we need your help. Here are ways to get involved.
Where we’ll be: NW IA – Buena Vista, Clay, and Sioux counties

GET involved with disaster relief

PRAY FERVENTLY

  • For church and community leaders as they make decisions about how to care for people over the next several months. It is currently estimated that 80% of structures in Spencer alone were affected by the floods. Coordinating this response effort is no small task for these communities.
  • For northwestern Iowa as the full impact of this disaster continues to settle in. Each day will bring something new that they have to live with that is different from before the flooding.
  • For those whose living arrangements have been drastically changed.
  • For God’s provision of the needed resources and funding to support the team delivering hope day after day. These are normal people who were expecting a baby or have an elderly parent whose homes and businesses are no longer livable or able to make revenue.
  • That hearts would be open to the Good News as individuals and ministries seek to serve and care for this community in the name of Jesus.

GO COURAGEOUSLY

  • Volunteer as an individual or with a group of friends from work or church. Our Domestic Team Director, Dennis Anderson, and Barb Meister, our Domestic Team Administrator, have been deployed since April 29th with some of our part-time staff and hundreds of volunteers. They would welcome your help!

    • Single or Multiple Days: Fill out the form above and Barb will help personalize your volunteer opportunity. She will be coordinating volunteers from interested groups to help with clean-up efforts in town and clearing fields in rural areas. Teams need to bring gloves, work boots, and lunch. A suggested daily donation per person to GoServ Global would help keep us serving families.
    • Going will continue to be important as communities start to get overwhelmed and warn out from the initial cleanup work, so if you can’t come right away, that’s okay! We’ll be serving for months.

GIVE GENEROUSLY

    • GoServ Global’s domestic team will be a part of a long-term response, needing substantial financial support to help with cleanup efforts and debris removal.  Please give to the GoServ Global Disaster Response by clicking the give icon or “Help Us Stay Deployed” buttons at the top of the page.
    • Join Team Hope! This mission happens because of generous givers like you! Choose to fuel the mission of sharing God’s love and meeting needs through monthly giving. By joining TEAMHOPE you help bridge the gap.
