Signing agreement with Small Town Big Deal

First of all, I would like to thank you for your current or past financial support of Joanie and me as we have been on this incredible journey with GoServ Global for nine years now.  We have been immensely blessed by the opportunity to serve God in this way and blessed by you for making it possible.

But it’s time for “breaking news”. About two and one half years ago I told my Board that I would be retiring in 2024, by June 30th at the latest. We have been searching for my replacement, and God has led us to the right man who will be taking on the role of Executive Director sometime in March. My last day as the Executive Director will be March 31, 2024. Joanie and I plan to move to South Carolina, where two of our sons and four grandchildren live sometime in early April. We have already purchased a home there (another great God story) and put new paint colors on the walls.

As we hear on some TV infomercials, “But wait, there’s more!!”. I am not leaving GoServ Global but simply moving into a newly created part-time position as a Regional Director. I will be responsible for promoting GoServ Global in the Southeast part of the United States. This will involve speaking at churches and other organizations to help spread the word about GoServ Global. I will also be doing fundraising events, meeting key people who could significantly impact the core focus of GoServ Global, which is “Sharing God’s love by delivering hope globally.”

One of the things I am most excited about with this new position is to be able to team up with Rodney Miller, one of the stars of the TV show “Small Town Big Deal.” Rodney has become a good friend, loves what GoServ Global does, and wants to help us develop a strong support base in the Southeast. Rodney knows a lot of influential people around the country, so his contacts will be invaluable. We had our first fundraiser on his farm in southern Georgia in early December.

Joanie and I would love to invite you to consider joining us in prayer and financial support for God’s new direction for our lives. Since this position is new, it was not budgeted for in 2024, so my goal is to raise all my support for my salary (modest) and expenses, which I am estimating will be around $50,000 per year. My desire is to not take any money directly from GoServ Global that isn’t budgeted.

So, if you are a current supporter, we ask that you continue supporting us at a level that you are able to. If you are a past supporter and God is nudging you to support us again, that would be a huge answer to prayer. There are numerous ways to support us financially.

Thanks again for your consideration.

Paul and Joanie van Gorkom
