A Sinless Eternity: Hebrews 9:25-28
“25) nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own. 26) Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27) And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, 28) so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.” Hebrews 9:25-28
Jesus died once for all time for the sins of the whole world. Why? Because His sacrifice satisfied the justice of God! It was an acceptable sacrifice. He paid in full the debt of human sin.
Just as there was only one acceptable sacrifice for sin, so there is only one way and one chance of salvation. Verses 27 makes it clear that physical death seals a persons eternal destiny. “It is appointed unto man once to die, then comes judgement.”
Don’t wait until after you die to get concerned about your salvation. It’s too late! Death seals the deal. Get your life right with God before you walk through deaths door. Now is the time to place faith in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
But some people say; “Don’t push religion on me!” Let me make this point perfectly clear, Jesus doesn’t force Himself on anyone. But here’s the catch; you can either place faith in Jesus Christ as the substitute payment for your sins now, or you can spend eternity in hell paying for your own sins!
When I heard the gospel, I put my faith in Jesus Christ to be my hope of salvation and the seal of my eternal destiny. There was no question that my sinful life deserved Gods wrath and judgement. But the good news of the gospel said that Jesus Christ took my place. He died on the cross to pay for my sins. He rose from the dead to prove that He conquered death.
Given the choice between accepting the payment of Jesus Christ for my sin or spending eternity paying my own debt, I put my faith in Jesus Christ. I invited Him into my life as Savior and Lord.
He came the first time to die for our sins. He is coming back the second time to deliver the full benefits of our salvation. I am among those eagerly waiting for Him.
The best part is that our sins will never be mentioned even in passing in eternity. Why? Because Jesus totally removed them. We look forward to a sinless eternity.
To the contrary, sin and death and judgement will be the only theme in hell. I shudder at the thought of eternal guilt and judgement.
