Perfected Through Suffering: Hebrews 2:10-13
“10) For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. 11) For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,” Hebrews 2:10-11
The decision to become the Redeemer included taking on all aspects of mortality. The author of our salvation was perfected through suffering. He became one of us, and yet did not sin.
For this reason, Jesus Christ can totally relate to us. He is not ashamed to call us His brethren. He is for us and not against us. He can relate to our every heart ache and every struggle. He knows first hand the challenges of living in a human body in a fallen world. Because of this, He can deal with us through understanding and mercy.
Never let the enemy deceive you into thinking that Jesus does not care for you or that He cannot relate to your struggles. While on earth, He walked in human sandals, and that included undergoing discrimination, betrayal, emotional and physical abuse, false accusations and a cruel death on a cross. He was rejected, mocked, scorned, scourged and crucified.
If you want a brief preview of the depth of His grace and mercy for struggling people, read Hebrews 2:14-18. Jesus is our champion and Savior. He is eager to come to your aid no matter your struggle.
