Prayer For Civil Leaders: Psalm 72
“1) Give the king Your judgments, O God, And Your righteousness to the king’s son. 2) May he judge Your people with righteousness And Your afflicted with justice.
20)The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.” Psalms 72:1-2, 20
Psalm 72 is the final prayer of David. It records his prayer for the reign of his son Solomon. He is asking that wisdom, compassion and Justice be given to him as he rules over the people.
This is an example of a great way to pray for government and civil leaders. They must be covered in prayer! The position of power will temp them apart from Gods protection! Be diligent to pray for kings and all who are in authority.
