Message #4: The End Time Church and the Need for Courageous Faith:
Transition: I going to biblically make a case this morning that the Bible has a special mantle and anointing for the end time Church … God is seeking to raise up courageous men and women of faith for these times.
I. The Biblical Evidence:
There is a category of prophetic Scripture written specifically to the end time Church. A. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 B. 2 Peter 3:3-4 C. Matthew 24-25
This period of time can be summarized as “Terrible Times.” A. 2 Timothy 3:1-9 B. 1 Thes 5:1-9
3. The end times will be accompanied by the emergence of a false or apostate church. (2 Thes 2:1-12)
II. Some Characteristics of the Apostate Church (Falling away vs Calling Away)
The man of lawlessness will be revealed who promotes every form of rebellion and immorality. 2 Thes 2:1-12 Holding to a form of godliness but deny its power: 2 Tim 3:5 Promotion of immoral sexual pleasures and standards. 2 Timothy 3:6 Always learning and talking about religious jargon but void of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:7 They turn the gospel of Grace into licentiousness and an excuse for sexual pleasures. Jude 4-13 Because of them, the way of the truth will be maligned. 2 Peter 2:1-22 (The emergence of the woke church.) There will emerge a world view based on naturalism that will mock God and any promise of the return of Christ. 2 Peter 3:3-13
III. What courageous men and women of faith look like in the end times:
They will develop a deep and sincere walk with God in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jude 17-23 They will live and preach the solid Word of God without compromise. 2 Timothy 3:16-4:5 They will live pure, holy and sanctified lives as they engage in world evangelization. Ephesians 5:26-27 They will experience a fresh and powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit accompanied by powerful signs and wonders validating the gospel message.
