Terry's April Updates

Written By Terry Baxter

I want to take a moment and share some highlights from the past three months. January started with a Freedom Quest Workshop at Village Creek Bible Camp. It featured the new addition of the workbook that added about 30% new content. It was a huge success and blessing.

Present were numerous people from around the country, many who were part of our Egypt team. It was wonderful preparation for the January 29-February 11th trip to Egypt.

We also enjoyed a family wedding in January with the marriage of our daughter Naomi to Steve Nystrom. It was so fun having much of our family together for the celebration.

The trip to Egypt itself featured over 220 people including the team. In preparation for the camp, the workbook was translated into Arabic. This is now available for much of the Islamic world. The week was broken into twelve session with small group discussions after each session. The format was very powerful.

What God accomplished was amazing. There were new conversions, deliverances, inner healings and significant training for Christian workers. Several countries were represented.

A few of us also had occasion to visit the pyramids and the new Egyptian museum. The Old Testament, Moses confronting the Egyptian sorcerers and magicians and the Exodus took on new significance and meaning for me.

Few realize that Egypt hosted Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus as they fled from Herod. It was also the mission field for the Apostle Mark who laid the groundwork for the Coptic Church.

The week after returning from Egypt we had some GoServ Global meetings and I was able to lead a church retreat at Twin Lakes Bible camp the weekend of February 20-22. What a wonderful time. It is such a blessing ministering to local churches.

As a side note, on my way to Egypt, I contracted the sinus cold and lung congestion that has affected so many people. It lasted most of the month of February. It was miraculous how God gave me the grace to not miss a single speaking session. His power was made evident in my weakness.

One day after the Twin Lakes Retreat, I quickly repacked my suitcase and joined a team to the small Central American country of Belize. The team was able to work with the Belize Project and spend three days with students in a Government School. The team spent six hours a day building relationships, telling Bible stories and sharing our testimonies.

Because of the sudden death of a friend of our Belize team leader, I was able to slip away with him for two days back to Belize City. We toured some Mayan ruins, visited his agriculture base, toured the gang ridden area of Belize City and did visitation in a ghetto area. It deepened my understanding of the dark side of Belize. The potential for future ministry teams to Belize is very real. A fringe benefit is that Belize is the only Central American county with English as its official language.

After arriving back home from Belize on March 2nd, I had two days to repack and catch a flight to Florida to conduct a two day Freedom Quest Workshop.

The Florida Freedom Quest Workshop was conducted in a Home Owners Community of nearly 500 homes. Other people from the area joined for the event. Around forty five people were in attendance. It was exciting watching God work. There were two first time decisions for Christ and many others confessing sin and pulling down strongholds.

That’s a brief overview of the past three months.

Now Let's Look Ahead

I have a very busy international schedule the next four months.

It starts with a Pastors Conference in Haiti April 7-13. I am looking forward to building on the revival in southern Haiti that we witnessed last summer.

April 16-19, I will be speaking at the annual Men’s Retreat at Village Creek Bible Camp near Lansing, Iowa. If you have not registered, go to the camp web page and secure your spot. Bring a friend or two as well.

May 1-19, I am in Uganda teaching the Freedom Quest Workshop at a Bible College. I have taught there a few times in the past with incredible results. The new workbook is also being translated into the local dialect.

June is mostly spent at home. Just a reminder, June 6th is our annual GoServ Global Banquet in Ankeny. This year we celebrate 15 years of ministry around the world. Go to the GoServ Global webpage and secure a spot for this exciting event.

For those in Eastern Iowa, on June 14th, I am scheduled to preach at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Sumner. A few of our Egypt team couples attend that church. We would love to see many of our friends from Eastern Iowa at the service.

Then June 25 through July 22nd, it’s off to Tanzania to teach four extended Freedom Quest Workshops for pastors in Tanzania.

The first two are sponsored by YWAM. Each will be the full extended workshop of three to four days in length. Then on July 10th, we will travel to the STEMM center for two more workshops the 13th through the 18th.

I would welcome two small teams to join me for about a week and a half each. The first will be for the YWAM part of the Schedule June 23 through July 10th. The second team could join me July 10th through July 21st at the STEMM facility.

It would be helpful if you have attended a Freedom Quest Workshop. There will be ample opportunity to minister and pray with people between sessions.

The cost will be determined by plane tickets and in country travel and lodging. We may be able to include a short safari as part of the trip to view the amazing Tanzania wildlife. Rough estimates are around $3,000 each depending on what happens with climbing fuel costs. You can contact Mark Doss for details.

As you can see, we have a very busy summer coming up. Each pastors conference is very fruitful but also costly. I anticipate ministering freedom quest principles to over 600 pastors this summer in Africa. I am praying for revival for many pastors and the seeds of awakening in two African nations this summer.

On top of these expenses, we have ongoing editing, translation and distribution expenses for the Daily Bible Commentary. We need a Freedom Quest financial mountain moved in 2026. Please consider joining our Freedom Quest prayer and support team in big ways in 2026.

Gifts can be given to either our Baxter support or the Freedom Quest ministry needs through GoServ Global. Thank you for joining us in changing the world.

Sincerely,

Terry Baxter
