Celebrating 2 Years of GoServ Global with Mark Henderson
Today marks 2 years of leadership with Mark Henderson, Executive Director of GoServ Global. We took a few moments to reflect on his journey so far!
What do you remember from your first week at GoServ Global?
I remember during those first weeks at GoServ Global, the fun of meeting the staff team, the country directors, some donors, and many of the board members. The relationships at GoServ Global started from day one and continue to be a highlight of working here. What a great team. I also remember the challenges of starting at a new job with both remote workers and an office split between two locations in Eagle Grove and Ankeny! Together, we made it work, and the transition to Ankeny happened pretty smoothly.What surprised you the past two years?
I knew I would love this job – helping connect people and resources to people who have a tangible and physical need in different parts of the world. It’s even better than I thought to match a need with a partner who has the gift and ability to meet that need. God is faithful in those relationships.What excites you for the future with GoServ Global?
I have always enjoyed inviting the next generation into God’s work in the world. Through 24 years as a pastor in the church, that always kept me engaged and excited to go to work every day. GoServ Global is in a great position to watch our founders and key leaders finish strong in the ministry God called them to, but also invite new people from the next generation to take the vision and run with it for years to come.Most fun part of the job so far?
I love to travel and meet new people. Did I mention the people? I think it’s the people.

We are so grateful to work alongside an amazing leader and friend like Mark! His humility, generosity, and servant leadership shine through in everything he does. He consistently lifts up the team for the benefit of the ministry and leads by example.
