The Most Fruitful Years: Psalm 92:10-15
“12) The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13) Planted in the house of the Lord, They will flourish in the courts of our God. 14) They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green, 15) To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Psalms‬ ‭92‬:‭12‬-‭15‬
This is how Psalm 92 closes. I see it as the pinnacle of this Psalm. God is not only with the righteous throughout their whole life, He crowns them with fruitfulness in old age!
A recent study of the most fruitful years of life shocked many. The decade of sixty to seventy was the most fruitful. Surprisingly, the decade of the seventies to eighties came in a close second. Then it went in condescending order every ten years from sixties down.
Why should this be surprising? It confirms the biblical promise of the blessings that come on those who walk with God. He delights in crowning the years of those who fear Him with good.
We have also found this to be true in world missions. God has used many “retired” people to greatly impact the world. When the senior years are dedicated to God, they can be profound!
If you are aging, change your mindset. Don’t sit back and wait to die; rather step up and put your peddle to the meddle for the glory of God. Leverage every day and every dollar you have for the kingdom of God. Be a world changer for Jesus.
