God is a Present Help: Psalm 46
“1) God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2) Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; 3) Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah.” Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭1‬-‭3‬
Walking with God is not an exemption to trials, but He is our refuge and strength. He is a very present help in times of trouble.
David then goes on to describe terrible natural disasters like earthquakes. God is with us through the storm and He is with us through the tumult.
This is where walking with God becomes dynamic. Faith recognizes that God is present and in control of everything. He is present in the calm and He is present in the storm.
I believe walking with God makes a way through the storm. Hence, God warned Noah to prepared an ark for the flood. By faith, he made it ready.
Faith in God changed everything. He became a very present help in times of trouble. Noah and His family endured the same storm as the rest of mankind, but they were safe in the ark. By faith, Jesus is our ark through every storm and trial in life. He is our refuge and strength.
God was there for every storm David faced whether from nature, beasts, giants, Saul, war, prolonged depression or internal conspiracy. God was his refuge and strength. Through faith, God actively worked on his behalf and brought him safely through.
What are you going through right now whether good or bad? Invite God into it. His attributes conclude that He is present, He knows it and He has the power to do whatever is needed. He is a present help in times of trouble.
Don’t just endure it; activate your faith and invite God into your struggle. Acknowledge Him. Focus on Him. Turn it over to Him. Praise Him right in the eye of your storm.
