God Takes Care of His Own: Psalm 34:8-10
“8) O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! 9) O fear the Lord, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. 10) The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.” Psalms 34:8-10
God takes care of His own. Blessed is the man or the woman who takes refuge in Him.
When David said; “O taste and see that Lord is good”, he was not promoting a half hearted approach to seeking God. Rather he was saying, “fear God and live His way.”
For those who fear Him, there is no want. He steps up and cares for them. He becomes both Provider and Protector.
As a shepherd, David has spent much time in the wilderness. He observed that many young loins lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord are not in want of any good thing. Living “sold out” for God makes a difference. He does not forsake His own.
This doesn’t mean the righteous are exempt from trials. Verse 19 says; “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.” God walks with His own through the storms of life.
