The Secret of Rejoicing in God: Psalm 34:1-7
“1) I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2) My soul will make its boast in the Lord; The humble will hear it and rejoice. 3) O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. 4) I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. 5) They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be ashamed. 6) This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him And saved him out of all his troubles. 7) The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.” Psalms‬ ‭34‬:‭1‬-‭7‬ ‭
It is always a good time to bless and praise the Lord. It will make good times better and roll away the clouds during bad times.
Paise is contagious. It is better when several people join together to lift up the Lord. David invited others to join him in magnifying the Lord. (Vs 3)
God answers those who seek Him and drives away their fears. Satan uses fear to make us numb. He wants us to drown in worry and anxiety. These feed stress.
The solution is consciously praising and exalting God verbally. Lift up your voice! Let your soul hear you putting your trust in God. It is a way to reboot your inner self.
David said that three things will happen when you seek God in this way. First, your face will change. Your countenance will become radiant. (Vs 5)
Second, God will hear your praise and deliver you from those things that trouble you. They will loose their grip on you. They will fall away. (Vs 6)
Finally, the angel of the Lord will encamp around you and do battle on your behalf. The angel of the Lord is a reference to Jesus in the Old Testament. Through His mighty Spirit, He wants to turn your inner tide from despair to rejoicing.; from average to excellence; from smoldering to flaming. (Vs 7)
The New Testament equivalent to this section of Psalm 34 is Philippians 4:4-9. These two texts are part of my daily walk with God. I have built them into both my conscious and subconscious life.
They contain spiritual secrets that fuel your soul and spirit with high octane fuel. They keep you your inner flames burning hot and position you close to God.
