Divine Destiny: Luke 13:31-33
“31) Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to Him, “Go away, leave here, for Herod wants to kill You.” 32) And He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I reach My goal.’ 33) Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.” Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭31‬-‭33‬ ‭
Tension was building fast. Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem for the final time. People tried to warn Him of His fate with Herod if He continued. Jesus had a totally different view. He understood Divine Destiny!
Jesus was not driven by fear or anxiety. He was in control. He had a date with the cross in Jerusalem on the Passover. Nothing, neither Herod nor the devil himself was going to thwart the prophetic plan.
He proceeded and continued to teach, heal people and cast out demons right up to the end. He remained true to the gospel of the kingdom. (See Matthew 4:23-24 for a description of the gospel of the Kingdom)
Nothing, not even the threat of death deterred Him. He was in control and He was in charge! He was on mission.
