This is Pastor Ernest Betson. By the power and grace of God, he was able to acquire a piece of swamp land in the southern part of Belize City (the murder capital of Central America) raise over a million dollars, truck in an enormous quantity of crushed rock to fill that swamp, and build a school that now provides an education and hope to 250 children. God is GOOD!

This is an area in Belize City called “London Bridges.” Ironically, the name refers to the pallets people walk on to get to the homes they’ve built on stilts in this swampy area. The poverty is extreme here.

These are the first through eight grade students at the Belizean government school in Mabil Ha, which is a Mayan village in the most remote part of Belize. I’m here with GoServ Global to explore building Safe T Home® units to serve as dormitories for the Principal and teachers. These are wonderful people in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

We spent some time with grade school students at Chan Chen Government School in Belize as they were happily preparing for Easter. Efforts by The Belize Project have created a measurable increase in literacy throughout Belize.

When I saw “fried shrimp sandwich” on the menu , I thought, “Yanno, a good missionary would eat what the locals are eating, even if it means a little suffering.” God continues to treat me like I’m His favorite grandkid.
I really, really like Belize! THANK YOU, LORD!
