Signs of the Times: Luke 12:54-56
“54) And He was also saying to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it turns out. 55) And when you see a south wind blowing, you say, ‘It will be a hot day,’ and it turns out that way. 56) You hypocrites! You know how to analyze the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why do you not analyze this present time” Luke 12:54-56
They had an ability discern and predict the weather in the physical realm, but were clueless about the signs and events in the spiritual realm. Yet they already had years of fulfilled prophecy about birth, early life and public ministry of Jesus that pointed to His true identity as the Messiah. Yet they missed it. They were clueless. They were willfully blind.
Hindsight is always 20/20. The clues were piling up daily. By this point, He was even openly talking about His true identity, but they were not listening. They wanted the benefits of His miracles, but failed to connect the dots.
So it will be in the end times. Prophecies will again be fulfilled in rapid succession, but most people will race through the routines of life without paying attention to the signs of the times.
Let me make an observation about our current time. Nothing is normal anymore. God is trying to get our attention. We are living in very unusual times. End time prophecy is piling up quickly. I beg you to stop, look, read the Bible and listen. God is speaking through the signs of the times.
