Be Proactive in Doing Good: Proverbs 3:27
“27) Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.” Proverbs 3:27
Be proactive in doing good. The fastest way to change the world for good is by doing good.
Modern Christianity has a negative bias against doing good because there is a lot of emphasis against the merits of good works contributing toward salvation. I recognize we are saved by faith and not works, but the New Testament is full of teaching about the importance of doing good.
Set aside some time and study the word “good” through the New Testament. It will shock you! We are to cling to what is good, overcome evil with good, participate in good deeds and not become weary of doing good.
According to 1 Timothy 6:18, we are to be rich in good works. Titus 2:14 says we are to be zealous for good deeds. James 3:13 says that godly wisdom is shown through good works.
This is merely scratching the surface. Solomon got it right; “do not withhold good from those to whom it is due.”
Can you imagine how quickly the world would change in a good way if every Christian would be proactive in doing good? According to the Bible, doing good is a very good thing.
