The Fatherhood of God in Your Live: Proverbs 3:11-12
“11) My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord or loathe His reproof, 12) For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭
God is so intimately involved in our lives that He corrects us when we stray. Why? Because he loves us. He wants our good and not our harm. He has a perspective far better ours.
These two verses are so packed with meaning, they are quoted in Hebrews 12:5-6. Much of that chapter in the book of Hebrews is devoted to the Father’s love, discipline and mentoring in our lives.
The point is labored in the context, we should welcome and not reject God’s discipline in our lives. It is not random. It has purpose. It is intended for our good that we might share His character and holiness.
Hebrews chapter twelve is a commentary on Proverbs 3:11-12. Study this chapter until you are melted by the Fatherhood of God in your life. He disciplines us because He loves, accepts and favors us.
