Take the Straight Path: Proverbs 3:5-6
“5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬
The Bible talks about many ways. The world has its way. The wicked have their way. We each have our own way. Satan has his ways.
According to Isaiah 55:6-9, God also has His thoughts and His ways. They are higher and better than any other. He calls us to forsake our ways and our thoughts and totally embrace His ways.
These two verses in Proverbs are a precursor to Isaiah. We are called to trust God with our all our heart and not lean on our own understanding.
Walking by faith is very different than walking by sight. It means we follow God and His ways at all times. We acknowledge Him in everything.
The promise to those who live this way is that God will make their path straight. The most direct and efficient path between any two points is a straight line.
Following these two simple verses from the book of Proverbs helps avoid so many distractions, hurts, pains and negative consequences in life.
No ways are higher than Gods ways. No thoughts are superior to Gods thoughts. No wisdom or knowledge is better than God’s. That means no path is straighter than Gods path.
In everything you undertake in life, simply acknowledge God and do it His way. Build on His Word and His wisdom. Pause and seek Him before you start and listen to His Spirit along the way.
Don’t be ashamed to be identified with Him. Make His ways your ways. Watch what He does to your path.
