The Third Big Benefit to Wisdom:
“20) So you will walk in the way of good men And keep to the paths of the righteous. 21) For the upright will live in the land And the blameless will remain in it; 22) But the wicked will be cut off from the land And the treacherous will be uprooted from it.” Proverbs 2:20-22
Solomon now moves from prevention to promises. Godly wisdom put’s young men on the pathway of good and righteous men.
Godly wisdom is the avenue to true success and prosperity. God promises that those who walk in His ways will inherit the land. That can be understood as surrounded by God’s blessings. (See Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
He has ways of opening doors and arranging positive circumstances for those who sincerely seek Him and walk in His ways. I call this “God’s Favor.” It surrounds those who order their lives according to His Word.
Hebrews 11:6 might serve as a New Testament anchor for this promise; “6) And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
There are huge benefits to seeking God and walking in His ways. He sets aside the godly for Himself.
