Programming Your Internal Guidance System
“9) Then you will discern righteousness and justice And equity and every good course. 10) For wisdom will enter your heart And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; 11) Discretion will guard you, Understanding will watch over you,” Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭11‬
Godly wisdom becomes an inner guidance system. It sensitizes the human soul to discern between good and bad, right and wrong, righteousness and justice, and good motives versus evil intent.
This excels still more in the New Testament for the born-again and Spirit filled believer. As the human spirit comes alive and begins to govern with a wisdom filled soul undergirding it, genuine godliness becomes the by-product.
When the wisdom Solomon spoke about is combined with the inner ministry of the Holy Spirit that Paul talked about, the growth and potential of the inner man is unfathomable.
Let me encourage you to undertake an insightful Bible study. Take a moment and read Proverbs 2:1-12 next to Ephesians 1:15-22 and Ephesians 3:14-21. You will discover that God designed the human spirit and soul to work together in tandem.
The books of Psalms and Proverbs contain powerful truth to renew the mind and convert the human soul. When left to itself, the human soul gravitates toward depravity.
Do not fool yourself into thinking you can trust in Jesus and then ignore the daily Study of Scripture. The end result will not be godly maturity or walking in the Spirit. It will quickly become be a rollercoaster ride of by-polar emotions and moral confusion. It is a one way road to carnal Christian living.
The human soul must be tended daily. You need to pull weeds of deception and plant new seeds of truth. Caring for your soul and spirit must become your number one daily priority.
What will be the cumulative result?
Then wisdom will guide you and understanding will watch over you. Then you will discern right paths in life and avoid multitudes of bad decisions, toxic relationships, wrong business deals, and the worldly wisdom James warned about. (See James 3:13-18)
Take time daily to care for your soul. Open your Bible and put new data daily into your internal guidance system.
