Parental Instruction
“8) Hear, my son, your father’s instruction And do not forsake your mother’s teaching; 9) Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head And ornaments about your neck.” Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬-‭9‬
David gave his sons and daughters many of the Psalms. Solomon gave his sons and daughters the book of Proverbs. They were intended to give them wisdom and teach them the ways of God.
I grew up in a non-Christian home with plenty of chaos and drama. My parents became Christians later in life. I did not get good instruction on godly living from my parents.
No problem. The Holy Spirit led me to the books of Psalms and Proverbs. God used them as a substitute for godly parental mentoring.
This can be true for any child, teen or adult. It is never too late to start learning wisdom. Build Psalms and Proverbs into your daily Bible reading.
