The Holy Spirit and End Time Prophecy
“1) But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2) by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, 3) men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.” 1 Timothy 4:1-3
The early church received prophecy from the Holy Spirit about what they considered the “end times.” The above text helps set this stage.
When all of the end time prophesies from both the Old and the New Testaments are compiled, it paints a picture of very difficult times. (2 Timothy 3:1-9) Jesus warned His followers to be dressed in readiness.
At this point, it is merely my goal to point out that the Holy Spirit has a role to play in both warning and preparing the bride of Christ for the end time. The tone of 1 Timothy 4:1-3 is very specific.
I believe we are quickly arriving at the closure of the church age. This Epoch is coming to an end. He who has an ear to hear better be listening to what the Spirit has to say to the churches in these unusual times.
