Recent Trip to Haiti Report
I just returned from a very fruitful trip to Haiti. (April 7-14, 2026) Ken De Young and myself traveled together for a focused trip to minister to a smaller group of pastors representing several cities and towns near our consolation center.
They had rented a facility from a Canadian ministry that pulled out of Haiti. The facility had lodging, dinning and an outside chapel area on the third floor with a steel roof above to shade and rain shelter. About 65 pastors were in attendance.
This was not a Freedom Quest Workshop. I was to preach four sessions with topics sent by the leaders several weeks in advance.
The Theme was: “The Servant of God and his Heart.” It was based on Proverbs 4:23; “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Let me briefly share the titles of each message and their aim.
Message #1: Healing of the servant of God’s heart – inner wounds, restoration, and spiritual maturity.
Message #2: Becoming a man of Integrity and honesty – a heart that is upright before God and before people.
Message #3 Reconciliation – with God, with oneself, and with others, as a foundation for spiritual leadership.
Message #4: Unity and brotherhood within the Body of Christ – leadership that promotes harmony, order, and collaboration.
It was my job to wait on the Holy Spirit for the biblical development of these messages. God worked in a supernaturally way.
Many pastors in Haiti have never face their own brokenness and integrity is never talked about among pastors. The whole subject of unity between pastors and churches was a new concept.
God so moved that after each session there was extended times for personal response, prayer and reflection. Many pastors were deeply moved by the Holy Spirit for the need for inner healing from past life trauma.
After the third session, a man came to the front and shared he was working with a group to put a pastor support network together all across Haiti. With tears of joy he said he wanted to organize this retreat in many regions. He had never experienced such deep inner work and healing within pastors.
Cheers erupted and they decided to take a spontaneous offering to raise seed money to launch the cause. Half the pastors got up and ran back to their rooms to get their wallets so they could contribute to the cause. I’ve never seen pastors so moved by the Holy Spirit to give from their own poverty toward a nation wide vision.
It is so hard with the language barrier to fully assess what God was doing, but Eddie, our Haiti director said it was deep, real and monumental.
Please be in prayer for Haiti. I sense God is sparking a national revival starting with pastors. There are many challenges, costs are soaring and suffering is deep and real. But God is at work. Did you hear that? God is at work in Haiti!
This is a crucial time for American and Canadian believers to rally in prayer and financial support for the indigenous Haitian Church. The winds of revival are starting to blow in Haiti. A fire is gathering momentum.
I plan to return again in early August for our larger annual pastors gathering and public Bible Conference hosted at our Consolation Center. Hundreds will be in attendance. Please contact me if you would like to join the team and experience first hand what God is doing.
