How Great is Our God: Psalm 147
1) Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant and praise is becoming. 2) The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel. 3) He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. 4) He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. 5) Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.” Psalms 147:1-5
These verses are a mere sample of Psalm 147. Altogether, there are twenty verses. The expound the greatness of God and His love for people.
On the one hand, He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. He is loving, compassionate and merciful.
On the other hand, He counts the number of the stars and gives names to all of them. He created them all.
This is an amazing feat. Modern astronomy has no idea how many stars or galaxies exist. The number keeps growing.
