Five Amazing Facts About Psalm 119
“1) How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the Lord. 2) How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart. 3) They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways. 4) You have ordained Your precepts, That we should keep them diligently. 5) Oh that my ways may be established To keep Your statutes! 6) Then I shall not be ashamed When I look upon all Your commandments.” Psalms 119:1-6
This morning I want to look at five amazing facts about Psalm 119.
First, it is the longest chapter in the Bible with 176 verses.
Second, nearly every verse refers to some aspect of God’s Word. (His word, law, ordinances, testimonies, statutes, commandments, etc)
Third, it is divided into 22 parts according to the letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
Fourth, it talks about revival more than any other chapter in the Bible.
Fifth, slowly reading through this Psalm and turning every verse into a personal prayer, sparks personal revival. (I have often used this tool as a one hour “get alone with God” break out session during both youth events and church renewals … the results are always amazing!)
