Psalm of Deliverance: Psalm 107 (Beginning of Book 5)
“1) Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. 2) Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary 3) And gathered from the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4) They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; They did not find a way to an inhabited city. 5) They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them. 6) Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. 7) He led them also by a straight way, To go to an inhabited city. 8) Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!” Psalms 107:1-8
This Psalm has 43 verses. It presents God as the mighty deliverer. Several times of distress and affliction are mentioned in this chapter. Finally the people came to the end of themselves and cried out to God! He responded by delivering them in mighty ways by His wonders.
In fact, the key word repeated five times in this chapter is “wonders.” When people finally cried out to God, they witnessed His wonders.
Throughout the entire Bible, God presents Himself as the Supernatural God who works wonders on behalf of His people. He is constantly at work. According to verses 20-21, this often included physical healing.
Usually the problem is with us. We are blind to His wonders or we attribute His intervention to chance or coincidence. Your faith will never grow until you start giving glory to God for His wonders in your life.
