God Rules Over The Nations: Psalm 47
“1) O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy. 2) For the Lord Most High is to be feared, A great King over all the earth. 3) He subdues peoples under us And nations under our feet. 4) He chooses our inheritance for us, The glory of Jacob whom He loves. Selah. 5) God has ascended with a shout, The Lord, with the sound of a trumpet. 6) Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7) For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with a skillful psalm. 8) God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne. 9) The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham, For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted.” Psalms‬ ‭47‬:‭1‬-‭9‬
This Psalm declares that God rules over nations. They have latitude to govern according to their own will, but God can turn the hearts of kings and change the course of nations. He can raise up one and put down another.
Daniel chapter four proclaims this as the message that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had to learn. According to Daniel 4:25-26; he had to learn the hard way that “heaven rules.” Read Daniel 4:34-37 to get the full impact of his lesson and his subsequent conclusion.
The same holds true today. Heaven rules over the nation’s. Gods plans and purposes will be fulfilled on earth. I stand on this truth!
According to Psalm 2:1-4, the nation’s can mock God, but He who sits in the heavens laughs at them. God is the only Super Power. He can bring any nation to its knees.
