amy Retiring May 2025

Beloved Staff and Family of GoServ Global for 13 Years

A Fond Farewell to Amy Maris

We want to share with you that our Donor Relations Specialist, Amy Maris, will be retiring today after nearly 13 years of faithful service with GoServ Global. Amy has been a vital part of our ministry, building lasting relationships with so many of you and serving our mission with dedication, warmth, and grace.

Here’s a message from Amy reflecting on her journey:

“I started on June 11, 2012, as office manager. At that time, it was Terry Baxter and myself in the office. On most occasions, Debby would accompany him into the office. I mainly worked on setting up the office and getting organized, working on the first donor database. One of my first projects I initiated was beginning a database of civic organizations in Iowa we could reach out to – Rotary Clubs, Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Chambers, etc., and Churches. I sent out letters introducing GoServ Global and what we are about. I made deposits but after more checks started to come in, we hired a part-time volunteer to keep the books and do data entry into QB. Of course, now I serve in Donor Relations. I have always considered this all God’s ministry work since day 1 and love serving others, while delivering the Hope of Christ to those who are lost, hurting, and in desperate need of Him.”

Amy also shared these heartfelt words about her time with GoServ Global:

“I can’t tell you the joy you’ve all brought me over the years. I love my job. Why would you want to quit something you love to do? But there is a season for everything, and I just feel like I need to sit back and let things change and let new people come in.”

“It’s definitely been a blessing in my life to be part of GoServ Global. God brought me to this organization. When Terry interviewed me 13 years ago! You are called to this when you’re part of this organization. It is a privilege and honor to watch how God has provided for every need that we’ve had.”

Please join us in thanking Amy for her incredible contributions and in wishing her God’s richest blessings as she enters this next season of life. The GoServ Global team will miss having her presence every day, but we expect she may continue to volunteer in a variety of ways!  We know she will also be missed by the many of you who have come to know and love her over the years.
