The Searching Woman: Luke 15:8-10
““8) Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9) When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!’ 10) In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”” Luke 15:8-10
We now have the story of the woman who has ten silver coins and looses one of them. She was a 10% loser. This was a painful loss.
She immediately lights a lamp and begins to sweep and clean the whole house until she finds the lost coin.
This sounds like the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He turns the light on and draws people to salvation. He also does a thorough cleaning and cleansing process.
Do not resist the working of the Holy Spirit as He exposes your lost and sinful condition. Yield to Him!
When the lost coin was found, the woman began to rejoice and celebrate. She calls her friends and neighbors and says to them, “Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost.”
Jesus concluded by saying; “In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” The angels celebrate over every sinner that relents.
This is why Jesus spent so much time with lost and sinful people. He was on mission.
