The Testimony of Faith: Hebrews 11:4
“4) By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.” Hebrews‬ ‭11:4‬
Faith caused Able to do and be his best despite the possible consequences. He offered his best to God. He understood true worship. He revered God.
As a result, he out lived his life. Even though he was dead, he still cried out to God. What you do for God in sincere faith will cry out for the glory of God long after you are dead and gone.
So what was the problem with Cain? It wasn’t his sacrifice. The Law is full of grain offerings. The problem was with Cain himself. He had a divided heart. 1 John 3:12 tells us that he was of the evil one and that his deeds were evil. It wasn’t his offering that was rejected, Cain himself was rejected.
You cannot worship God while harboring sin in your life. God knows the true condition of your heart. Sin always separates from God. Faith in God always leads to righteousness and a life dedicated to God. It leads to a consistent testimony.
