Concluding the Book of Jude: Jude 1:24-25
“24) Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, 25) to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” Jude 1:24-25
These two verses are often pronounced as a benediction at the end of a church service. You most likely did not know that they come from the book of Jude. He was commending believers to God.
Jude noted that God was able to keep believers from stumbling and qualify them to stand in the presence of His glory blameless and with great joy. This is all based on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He removed the sin barrier between God and man. He made it possible for ordinary men and women to stand in the presence of the glory of God and the God of glory.
Verse 25 places all attention back on God. To Him alone belongs glory, majesty, dominion and authority before time began, during this present age of time and space and into all eternity future. He is the sum of all things.
Jude closes this book by fighting for more than the gospel and the Christian faith, He was fighting for a biblical view of reality. He was fighting for the notion and definition of God as presented in the Bible. He was contending for the faith that was once and for all delivered to the saints. (See Jude 3)
It is imperative that the modern church embrace a biblical world view, pure gospel, truth and correct view of God. Tampering and changing any of these results in a distorted gospel and false religion. These values are worth the fight. The very eternal destiny of millions of people hangs in the outcome of this battle.
