Charitable Gifts & the New Tax Law

“The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 introduced a number of sweeping changes, perhaps most notably the limitation or elimination of many itemized deductions. Under the new tax law, state and local tax deductions are limited to $10,000 and the standard deduction is $12,000 per person. As a result, many taxpayers will now fall under the new standard deduction, unless they can increase what deductions remain.”

Uganda Mission Trips

GoServ Global partners with Christine Pipes of International Messengers to build a refugee camp with Sukup Safe T Homes® for orphan children from war-torn South Sudan. Nearly 50 children have arrived and now have a safe place to live, enough food to eat, an opportunity to attend school, and house mothers who care for them. The children are also learning about the love of Jesus. Forty Sukup Safe T Homes® complete this camp along with a Sukup steel building that serves as the church for the entire community.

Colorado Peaches to Benefit GoServ Global’s Domestic Ministry

Recently, GoServ Global responded to a couple of natural disasters here in Iowa. One was a flood in Des Moines and the other a tornado in Marshalltown. We offer all of our disaster relief services at no charge. We are currently in need of more funds to continue to help needy families. These funds go to pay for fuel, building materials and other supplies to help people get back on their feet. You can donate right now by going to our website page at https://goservglobal.org/give/and selecting “Domestic Disaster Relief” from the drop down box. Thanks for helping out.

We are also launching a fundraising drive by selling boxes of peaches from Colorado. Many of you might remember participating in this fundraiser last year and know how tasty these peaches are. Check out the flyer below to see how you can order some of these delicious peaches and help people who have been victims of natural disasters at the same time. Must order by August 22nd for delivery on August 27th.

GoServ Global’s Domestic Disaster Relief Busy This Summer

GoServ Global’s Domestic Disaster Relief Teams have been busy the past month, serving in Des Moines, Marshalltown, and Albert City after storms hit the areas. Over the past month, GoServ Global has worked with more than 40 families right here in Iowa who were impacted by flooding or a tornado. We have gutted basements, carried water-damaged furnishings to the curb, and removed trees that were on top of houses, etc.

In Des Moines we are putting up drywall for the Rubio family whose house was flooded with four feet of water.

In Marshalltown, GoServ Global is continuing to take down trees damaged in the tornado. Last week, we worked with 7 different families and hauled 14 loads of debris out of town. One of the highlights was helping and praying with a couple in their 90’s.

Yesterday, GoServ Global responded to a storm that swept through Albert City with winds up to 80 mph. Several volunteers spent the day cutting and hauling trees.

Would you consider partnering with GoServ Global so we can continue to help those in Iowa who have been impacted by natural disaster?
