The Power of the Mouth: Proverbs 11:9
“9) With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” Proverbs 11:9
Solomon now returns to the power of the tongue. Your mouth can destroy people. Lies, slander, gossip and false accusations cause serious damage to people.
Words can also build people up. But the crazy thing about the godless, they are bent on hurting others. They are word bully’s.
The second part of the verse says that the righteous can use knowledge to deliver himself. He opts for truth, love, patience and credible witnesses.
God is on the side of the righteous. He is their defense. Never compromise your integrity.
