The Warning: Proverbs 11:7
“7) When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, And the hope of strong men perishes.” Proverbs 11:7
This verse says nothing about the righteous. It focuses on the fact that the expectations of the wicked perish with death. Why?
The answer is simple; they face eternal judgement in hell. Their plans, hopes and dreams are over the moment they pass through deaths door. A rude awakening is waiting for them after death.
A good biblical example is found in Luke 16:19-31 with the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Immediately after death the rich man was carried away to Hades. It was terrible and it was forever.
The moral of this Proverb is to build your life on the will and ways of God. They are eternal in His glorious presence. Your reward will follow with you.
