The Daily Banquet Table: Proverbs 9:1-6
“1) Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars; 2) She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine; She has also set her table; 3) She has sent out her maidens, she calls From the tops of the heights of the city: “4) Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks understanding she says, “5) Come, eat of my food And drink of the wine I have mixed. 6) Forsake your folly and live, And proceed in the way of understanding.”” Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭
Wisdom is a feast to which all people are invited. The first seven chapters of the book of Proverbs set the pillars. The invitation constantly goes out day and night. The table is set, the food is ready, the drink has been prepared. Your name is being called.
From chapter one we discover the starting point is a reverence for God. This is where you need to begin. No matter your present life circumstances, you can learn, grow and change.
The only requirement is that you forsake your sin and folly and become teachable. Eating at Gods banquet table is a daily feast. He invites you, but He does not force you to attend.
Dinning with God at the banquet table of personal growth and development is a long term process. It is a daily feast that takes years. The rewards are immeasurable.
Are you ready to answer the call? Are you ready to forsake your folly and live?
