God’s Wisdom Displayed in Creation: Proverbs 8:22-31
““22) The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. 23) From everlasting I was established, From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth. 24) When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no springs abounding with water. 25) Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills I was brought forth; 26) While He had not yet made the earth and the fields, Nor the first dust of the world. 27) When He established the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep, 28) When He made firm the skies above, When the springs of the deep became fixed, 29) When He set for the sea its boundary So that the water would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth; 30) Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, 31) Rejoicing in the world, His earth, And having my delight in the sons of men.” Proverbs‬ ‭8‬:‭22‬-‭31‬
Now we discover the Divine wisdom which was with the Creator when He created the universe, galaxies, our solar system, and planet earth. I haven’t mentioned the biosphere and the huge diversity of life on this planet.
Solomon was a an accomplished biologist in his times. (1 Kings 4:30-34) Yet there was a whole world of mystery and discovery hidden from him.
He did not have the advantage of the laws of physics, the microscope, James Web telescope, an understanding of atomic complexity, DNA or deep sea exploration. His exploration was limited to his five natural senses. Yet he got it right!
Everything God created screams of the depth of His wisdom. The complexity of the universe constantly baffles the modern scientific community. Long held cosmic theory is in crisis and being radically challenged.
Biologists are finding many new life forms thriving in deaths of the ocean previously thought impossible. There is now a steady return of scientists back to what is called “The God Hypothesis.”
Simply put, there is no explanation of cosmic existence or the mystery of life apart from an all wise intelligent designer. Solomon said the same thing nearly 4,000 years ago in Proverbs 8:22-31.
With that said, we are now confronted with the depth of the wisdom and knowledge of God as displayed at every level in what He created. Is it any wonder that Solomon understood that seeking godly wisdom is more important than seeking silver or gold?
We haven’t even ventured into the mystery of the spiritual realm and the multi-dimensional reality that it represents. Paul mentions it several times in his writings. I can only imagine the place Jesus has gone to prepare for us!
