The Scam Artist: Proverbs 6:12-15
“12) A worthless person, a wicked man, Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth, 13) Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, Who points with his fingers; 14) Who with perversity in his heart continually devises evil, Who spreads strife. 15) Therefore his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing.” Proverbs 6:12-15
Solomon now warns about the devious person or what we call the scam artist. They look and sound honest and trustworthy, but they work to swindle people.
They appear to be sincere and loyal until they suddenly turn and do great harm. They lie, overcharge, misrepresent their product, skim money, keep two sets of books, cheat their vendors, drain a partnership, commit fraud, engage in identity theft and scam people.
When they are finally exposed or caught, it is almost unbelievable because they come across so likable. But their fall can be catastrophic. It often results in financial bankruptcy, legal action or even prosecution.
If this is you, repent and change your ways. It will catch up with you.
